Swell Scan Aug. 30, 2009

Watching Hurricane Jimena closely for possible swell. It's one heck of a storm, but trajectory is uncertain. Small deviations in the weather pattern could result in a world of difference for surf in SoCal. Here's a look at what's happening across the Pacific to bring swell to California.

Swell Scan Aug. 10, 2009

Wanted to show what'll be happening this week surf-wise while I'm out on vacation. Not a whole lot on tap, although wind swell is highly likely for the weekend, and we may see some southern hemi around the 22nd-23rd. Here's a look at what's happening across the Pacific to bring swell to California.

Swell Scan Aug. 7, 2009

Wanted to show a quick update on hurricane Felicia, and what it means for swell in California. Models are a bit frustrating this morning, but I've taken the middle ground for the forecast.

Swell Scan Aug. 6, 2009

Hurricane Felicia now category 4, blowing 120 kt winds and stirring up impressive fetch. Not the most favorable swell track though, but we should see something out of this over the weekend (Sat.), along with some background southern hemi. Winds to be an issue for the near term, but improve by the weekend. Here's a look at what's happening across the Pacific to bring swell to California.
